ERR_PIPELINE_LOCK on Pipedrive: Pipeline locked. Root cause: Pipeline is locked for maintenance or configuration Step 1: Identify whether the lock is a permission restriction or an admin-applied lock. In Pipedrive, go to Settings → Pipelines. If you see a padlock icon next to the pipeline name, an admin has explicitly locked it to prevent stage edits. If you see no lock icon but cannot move deals, the issue is a permission restriction on your user role. These are two different problems with different fixes. Step 2: For admin-applied locks: contact your Pipedrive admin. Only a Pipedrive admin can unlock a locked pipeline. Go to Settings → Pipelines → click the pipeline → toggle off "Lock pipeline". If you are the admin and cannot find this setting, you may be on an older Pipedrive plan that does not support pipeline locking — the lock may actually be a permission issue (see Step 3). Step 3: For permission restrictions: check your user role. Go to Settings → Manage Users → find your user → click Edit. Under Permissions, check whether "Edit deals" and "Move deals between stages" are enabled. If you are on Pipedrive Professional or Enterprise, permissions are managed through Permission Sets — go to Settings → Permission Sets and verify your set includes deal stage transitions. Step 4: Check whether the deal has a required field blocking the stage move. Pipedrive allows admins to require specific fields before a deal can advance to the next stage. If you try to move a deal and get an error about missing information, go to Settings → Pipelines → click the destination stage → Required Fields. Fill in all required fields on the deal record before attempting the stage transition. Step 5: For automation-triggered locks, check your workflow rules. If deals are being locked by an automation (e.g., a workflow that sets a deal as read-only after a certain stage), go to Automations → find automations that affect this pipeline → check for any "Lock deal" or "Restrict editing" actions. Disable or modify the automation if it is locking deals prematurely. Step 6: If the pipeline is locked due to a Pipedrive platform issue. Occasionally Pipedrive applies temporary locks during data migrations or plan changes. Check status.pipedrive.com for any active incidents. If there is no incident and the lock appeared without any admin action, contact Pipedrive support with your pipeline ID (visible in the URL when you open the pipeline settings) and the exact time the lock appeared.
